Caroline Turner-Gould
Caroline Turner-Gould A few years ago the Piano was gathering dust and a young Caroline said that she’d rather play guitar instead… her parents thought it was just another teenage phase, but…
“From the early days of solo acoustic at open-mic nights, I progressed to Rhythm and Lead Vocals in a young “Metal” band (and still play occasionally with them). I gig regularly with a Rock/Indie/R’nB covers band “The Fabulous Laggards” who I joined in Aug. 2009. The band opened the door to many styles and artists that I would never have dreamed of emulating and through the encouragement of the band I have expanded my horizons. I’ve been writing songs for some time, both for myself and my first band.
My influences are varied from Eva Cassidy to Metallica and a host of music legends in between. As a result, my own music tends to be slightly rocky in nature but my lyrics emanate from deep within and carry with them some of the feelings that I have experienced…albeit in the short time that I’ve been on this planet! I’m not one for hogging the limelight and openly encourage you to come and sing along (louder than me please!) to the classic covers in the set - but don’t forget – I have a PA and Mic!!

Zipper Tongue Original & Unique Keys
Zipper Tongue Original
Zippertongue are a four piece rock band
with a difference! Using modern technology their music sits on a rock base,
with orchestral, jazz, dance and flamenco sonic flavourings composed on top. All the strings, synths, trumpets, bells,
whistles are played using guitar synths, live, providing a more interesting
than average audio experience.
The songs are penned by Scottish guitar
virtuoso and composer Nick Andrew and not so Scottish Scottish guitarist,
vocalist and composer Stephen Roper. Would please all rock, pop, classical
and jazz fusion aficionados, particularly fans of Muse, Queen, Genesis, Return
to Forever, Pendulum, Joe Satriani, ELP, Coheed and Cambria, Darkness and Dream
Theater amongst others. Zippertongue’s debut album is currently
in production, Stay tuned for more details.
Unique Keys
For
15 years I played keyboard & Organ with headphones on, then
magically 18 months ago I was introduced to a new technique of playing
and discovered I had a unique gift. Now I want to share it with
everyone!!! Every day I am getting more versatile in what I play from
Foster and Allen to the Killers. Whatever floats your boat.
Using
styles from the keyboard I can play and sing live. No backing tracks or
midi files. I have a large repertoire for a normal music evening or I
can produce a unique live music quiz which lasts around 2 hours. Set up
time is approximately 10 to 15minutes and the same to pack up. I rely on
technology so have an absolute minimum of equipment which will also
suit the more compact venue. I don’t compromise on sound quality as I
use the Bose L1 compact amplifier of which the sound quality is
unrivalled . I’m just as happy indoors or outdoors. No electricity, no
problem I can run off my trusty battery pack Weddings parties, Garden
parties, Festivals, Beer gardens.

Wings of Pegasus & Black Emerald
Wings of PegasusWhat is more acceptable - playing outside of your genre to please the public and cash in, but at the same time not satisfying your own needs as an artist? Or playing a type a music which isn't currently trendy, but that feeds your soul? Answer: right now the dream is to have both elements of the latter. All we want to do is play music, music that we cherish. Wings of Pegasus is our vehicle that we hope will carry us on a long eventful, spiritual ride.
A journey just beginning... “turn on your TV sumthin' bigs' goin' down”
Every once in a while you'll hear a song that momentarily, lets you forget the world. Any problem or life crisis disappears, well, for at least three minutes and 40 seconds, kind of like how morphine takes away physical pain, if only for a short while. Music is a drug. We are all junkies. We all need a fix..... Are we suggesting that we can deliver that as a band? That's not really for us to decide. “sometimes we're up against the ropes”
Get inspired – listen closely to others – bombard yourself with the great wall of sound – write a song – have a drink – have two – go see a gig – taste the dry ice – feel yourself being dazzled by the lights - feel the hairs on your back stand up – become your idol – find out who you are – form-storm-norm-perform – have a goal – work back from the goal – succeed.
“no-one wants the dream like I do”
The boring bits: From Slough, Maidenhead, Farnborough, Brentford. Think Whitesnake, Def Leppard, Winger, Alterbridge, Dokken. But at the same time think of none of those bands, don't let your personal judgement be influenced. Aged between 21 and 23. One wants a Ferrari, one wants a Dodge Viper. One loves the Honeypot, the rest of us pretend we don't. We tell each other how we feel as soon as an emotion comes into play, its healthier that way. We all have our own gear except one, can you guess who?... One of us is perfect. One of us you wouldn't want to upset at the bar. One of us wears a gum shield. One of us would be able to sell you a 3000 microfarad electrolytic capacitor.
“after all they say, my reflection still remains”
Our aim isn't to convert the world to “Wings of Pegasus lovers” by adapting ourselves in such a way that attempts to please every individual, we're a band, not a religion. We do not want to falsely mould ourselves to fit the hands of many. We do what we do, because we want to. We would be delighted if 6 Billion people made a free choice to subscribe to our music. But let it be heard that what these people will witness will be us, no matter how we have developed as a band. This biography reflects our current state and outlines our deepest beliefs, but it may change from time to time as we change. Let’s not build a barrier...http://www.wingsofpegasusband.com/fr_home.cfm
Black Emerald
Black Emerald Formed in 2006, in secondary school by Chris Davies and Edd Higgs, with the aim of bringing back elements of classic rock that have been lost throughout the years, and combining them with modern sounds and soon became very well known around the local area. Throughout the years 2006 - 09 the band went through a large number of lineup changes, which also took them through a number of sound changes, from blues rock, to a small stage of punk, along to now, in 2010, where with a stable line up, with Chris Davies on drums, Ben Readings on bass, Simon Hall on vocals, Andy Pammenter on Rhythm Guitar and Edd Higgs on Lead Guitar, some groove metal has begun to appear within original classic rock style. With widely varying influences, there is no one fixed genre. From metal to old rock, there is something for everyone. They are now signed to a small independent label, Black Bullet Records, under which they are going to release their first EP titled Shine which will then be followed by the (locally titled), album Cemetery Junction. They have always been known for putting on a fantastic live act, and that is something they will never disappoint on.

The
Zoas cannot easily be summed up in a word. The music changes fluidly
with each song, moving through swaggering rock grooves to ambient
psychedelia, and their organic approach to songwriting throws out
everything from simple, catchy tunes to progressive, visceral epics.
